When Did Friendship Become Disposable

Why is it people hurt the ones closest to them ? When someone opens up it is not a free pass to betray them. I learned today that my good friend was betrayed by not one but two people closest to her. and it breaks my heart. she is a good person who has been hurt but always loves hard. I am disappointed that people like that exist. we create these bonds and friendships, memories and relationships with people we hope will stay in our lives forever. we give ourselves and become vulnerable, trusting that these people will support us and help us to be better. when that bond is betrayed it cuts like a knife and can destroy any hope of moving forward. but we must. no matter how hurt and broken down we are we must maintain faith. we will never be given something we cant handle. we will always come out better and stronger, with one less poor excuse for a friend. people hurt the ones closest to them because they can. that cycle has to end.
